Join the national memorial ceremonies for those killed or injured on the job at the monument in view of the Heron Road Bridge, the site of Ontario’s worst workplace accident. The collapse of the Heron Road Bridge saw 9 people die and another 55 injured in August 1966.

Ottawa Labour History - a one day conference

The Workers’ Heritage Centre and the Canadian Committee on Labour History invite you to participate in a one-day conference on Ottawa’s labour history. Explore our city’s labour history with first hand accounts and academic presentations. There will be a 1919 90th anniversary presentation on that year of labour protest. The day will end with a working class walking tour of downtown.
