MAY DAY MARCH
May 1 @ 6:00 pm
RALLY: Supreme Court lawn, 301 Wellington St, 6 P.M.
MARCH: 6:30 P.M.
May Day / International Workers’ Day is an international day of celebrating workers’ struggles and commemorating all the sacrifices that revolutionaries have made to change the world into a better place for working class people. Struggles against capitalism, colonialism, racism, imperialism, patriarchy and other links in the chains of oppression that bind us all come together on this day.
There are many reasons to come out and take the streets in solidarity on May Day: falling standards of living and employment, cuts to social services, workplace discrimination, colonial oppression, destruction of Indigenous people’s lands, racism, police violence, patriarchal violence and oppression, rising threat of fascism, ongoing wars and imperialist sabre-rattling to push the world into greater conflict.
The only way to effectively oppose these and other terrible manifestations of the rotten system we live in is to unite is solidarity and organise to end this system once and for all. The revolution is not only necessary, but also possible!
This May Day, let us unite against the three main enemies of the people: capitalism, colonialism, and imperialism!
Come out on your own, invite your friends, bring your signs, banners and good spirit. Let’s take the streets together!
We recognize that this event is taking place on unceded Algonquin territory and commit to active solidarity with struggles against colonialism and for full liberation of all Indigenous nations.
